Tastebuds Custom Catering Sponsors Two Events at Naples International Film Festival
Tastebuds Custom Catering sponsored the opening event and catered the closing party for the 10th annual Naples International Film Festival (NIFF) held on October 25-28, 2018.
The opening event for the Naples International Film Festival, held on October 25 at 6:00pm at Artis—Naples, featured a selection of savory menu items from several local businesses. Tastebuds Custom Catering was a sponsor for the opening event, along with Crave Culinaire, Belgian Yumies, Royal Scoop, Tacos and Tequila, New York Pizza and Pasta, and Shula’s Steakhouse. Each sponsor served two delicacies to the 1,000 guests who attended NIFF’s opening night. The food stations were revealed after the movie concluded, so the guests were treated to a surprise when they left the theatre.
Tastebuds Custom Catering curated two tasty menu items that thoroughly impressed the sophisticated crowd. The first treat was a charcuterie cone, much like the delicacies served on the streets of Spain. The cones were filled with savory salumi, hand selected artisanal cheese, pickled seasonal vegetables, and a cured olive, all topped off with a crostini stick. Guests selected their cone from an industrial style fixture fitted to display the hanging cones. The jaw dropping charcuterie cone wall was a crowd favorite among the food stations.
The second menu item served was a petite salmon BLT. The custom caterer combined the classic flavors of a BLT and added a modern twist by including the smoky essence of salmon. The petite salmon BLT included salmon smoked in house, crispy apple wood bacon, tomato, fresh arugula, and lemon caper aioli all served on top of a delicious silver dollar roll. The focal point of this food station was a fresh, 18-pound salmon from Sixty South – the only source of premium, sustainable salmon raised in the Antarctic. Tastebuds smoked the salmon using pecan and hickory wood to enhance the flavor of the fish used in the BLT’s.
In addition to sponsoring the opening event, Tastebuds Custom Catering was the primary caterer for the Closing Night Awards Ceremony on October 28th at the Kohan Art Gallery at Artis—Naples. For this event, Tastebuds presented three distinct food stations and passed hors d’oeuvres. Among the food stations was an Asian station with pork belly sliders and crispy dumplings, Italian station with brick fired flatbreads and tortellini Caprese skewers, and a Sea station serving the petite salmon BLTs and Bloody Mary cocktail shrimp. Ricotta crostini sticks, beef brisket sliders, and spinach Parmesan thumbprints were served as passed hors d’oeuvres.
